About Piper Warlick
My relationship with photography began when I was 15 years old. My first camera was a fully manual, Pentax 35mm. It was a gift from my future brother-in-law, way back when he was just my sister’s new boyfriend. That camera was amazing, not because it had any special features like the Nikon digital system I shoot with today, but because, quite simply, it changed the direction of my life forever. Now, some 25 years later, I am still just as smitten with the photographic process, and I am extraordinarily blessed to have made a career in photography–something that brings me so much joy.
Since I photograph all things portrait related, there is a tremendous amount of diversity in my work, from infant and family sessions to weddings, great and small. Each time that I pick up my camera, I am headed off to photograph something unique. I like it that way. I want to do this for the rest of my life. In order to keep a sense of balance, I have my hands in a lot of honey pots. I want to use this blog to share all of my interests with you. Sure, there will be regular sneak peeks from some of my recent portrait sessions. I also want to show you what my daughters are helping us grow in the organic garden out back, or what my husband, Mark, the chef in the family, is whipping up for dinner, or, since I am an obsessive DIY’er, the details on whatever my current craft project is … essentially, what makes up my life beyond the camera. I hope you will continue to check back; it’s sure to be entertaining.
