I picked up a camera in high school and fell hard. I’d taken pictures before—on simple 35mm Kodaks and rainbow-striped Polaroids—but when I began learning the technical and artistic language of photography as a teenager, something clicked. I was captivated by the way photographs hold time—how they preserve moments that often pass far too quickly, and yet come to mean everything. That sense of awe has never left me.
I continued photographing through college and earned my credential in photography from the Creative Circus in Atlanta in 2002. I founded Piper Warlick Photography that same year and have been photographing portraits and weddings ever since. Over more than two decades, I’ve been entrusted with moments both ordinary and extraordinary—quiet milestones and once-in-a-lifetime days. My work has grown as I have, shaped by experience, curiosity, and a deep respect for the people who invite me into their lives.
At the heart of everything I do is a genuine love of people. I proudly serve individuals, couples, and families of every race, faith, gender identity, sexual orientation, and background. Creating an affirming, respectful space—where people feel seen and at ease—is not an add-on to my work. It is foundational.
What I cherish most is the moment someone reaches out and tells me who they are right now. Graduating. Becoming parents. Grieving a loss. Claiming their identity. Proposing. Marrying. Beginning something new. These chapters are tender and meaningful, and I take the responsibility of documenting them seriously. Trust is at the center of the process, and from that trust comes imagery that feels honest, connected, and true.
If I have a particular gift, it’s this: I listen closely. I care deeply. I create space for people to show up as themselves. There’s a quiet power in that kind of presence, and it’s what allows photographs to feel alive long after the moment has passed.
Outside of photography, I’m a wife, a mom to two delightful little lunatics, a trash-collecting stand-up paddleboarder, a devoted yoga practitioner, and a hopeful roller skater. I love my people, my dog, my cats, and a well-lived, imperfect life.
Reading and self-education have become an essential part of who I am, especially since 2020. During a season when photography paused, I turned toward books—on politics, culture, identity, creativity, and the human experience. Those years reshaped the way I see the world and deepened my commitment to continued growth, humility, and learning. The more I learn, the more I understand how much there is to listen to and hold with care.
If you’re looking for a photographer who values connection over performance, presence over perfection, and images that feel real and enduring, you are in the right place. I’d love to learn more about you and what this season of life holds.
